07 Trasferimenti fuori dall'Unione Europea

09 I tuoi diritti

Puoi esercitare in qualsiasi momento i diritti previsti dagli artt.

Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 September 2026 · Effective as of Veoaris 2.0

Your documents stay on your Mac. The only data that leaves your device concerns the status of your subscription, and it is the minimum needed to make it work.

In two lines. Veoaris reads and indexes documents locally: content, thumbnails and the search index never leave your Mac. If you activate Veoaris Pro, an external service checks on our behalf that the subscription is active — without knowing who you are and without seeing your files.

01 Data controller

02 What Veoaris does not do

03 What stays on your Mac

All document processing happens locally, inside the application sandbox:

None of this is transmitted to us. Removing the app deletes it together with its container.

04 Folder access

Veoaris only accesses the folders you choose through the system "Add folder" dialog. macOS enforces sandboxing: the app cannot read anything outside what you have authorised. You can revoke access at any time by removing the folder from the app.

To keep the library current, the app reads the name, size, type and modification date of the files in monitored folders. This information is used for sorting and change detection and stays on your device.

05 Data processed for the subscription

This is the only part of Veoaris that communicates externally, and it applies only to those who start the free trial or subscribe to Veoaris Pro.

To verify that a subscription is active we use RevenueCat, Inc., acting as a data processor on our behalf. Through this service the following are processed:

We never receive your name, your email address, your card details or any other payment method data. Payment is handled entirely by Apple, acting as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

If you never start the trial or subscribe, the app does not need to transmit anything in order to work.

06 Legal basis and purposes

Under Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the data described in section 05 is processed for:

07 Transfers outside the European Union

RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States. Transfer of the data described in section 05 takes place on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission, together with the security measures provided by the vendor.

08 Retention

Subscription data is retained for the duration of the relationship and thereafter for as long as needed to meet accounting and tax obligations or to establish or defend a legal claim. Local data on your Mac remains until you remove the app or clear the cache from within it.

09 Your rights

You may exercise at any time the rights set out in Articles 15-22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Write to privacy@veoaris.com.

A practical note: because the subscription identifier is anonymous, in order to act on a request we may need to ask you for something that lets us locate the record — your Apple purchase receipt, for instance. We hold nothing else that could link you to that data.

If you believe the processing infringes the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali ↗ or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

10 Children

Veoaris is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data relating to them.

11 Changes

Any updates to this policy will be published on this page with a new date. If the changes materially affect the processing of your data, we will notify you in the app.
